He's fascinating. It's like one day, he told himself "what about stopping going to the decision with middle ranked fighters and becoming exciting and heavy handed ?". His streak just shows how strong Omigawa is.
Now, who can beat him (except Aldo but they won't ever fight) ?

edit : I hope Kanehara is alright. Physically and mentally.

Sounds like a great event, I just couldn't stay up that late unfortunately - did it air live on HDNet or will it be played later in the week?

My picks were:

Sandro by (T)KO, Round 1 (2 points)
Izumi by Submission, Round 2 (1 point)
Kikuta by Decision (0 points)
Maxi by Decision (1 point)
de la Cruz by (T)KO, round 3 (0 points)
Wada by Decision (1.5 points)
Osawa by Decision (1 point)
Usuda by (T)KO, round 2 (0 points)
Kawamura by Submission, round 2 (1 point) [or 1.5?]
Tokutome by (T)KO, round 1 (2 points)
Nam by Submission, round 2 (1.5 points)

= 11 points... although I'm not sure if picking the winner and round but not the right method is actually 1.5 points as opposed to only 1... if so then it'd be 1.5 points for Kawamura by sub round 2 as it was actually Kawamura by TKO round 2, in which case it'd be 11.5 points total

After Sandro and Dudu Dantas both got robbed in Japan last summer, I remember reading an interview with Andre Pederneiras where he said something like "there's a new rule at Nova Uniao, and that is we don't let it go to the judges anymore."

Except Aldo? Such a zuffa pr thing to say. Why do you take zuffa pr as truth?

Omigawa can beat him. Joe Warren, Fernandez, Joe Soto, Hioki. Keep trying to put zuffa at the center of things. They've made a lot of money, sure, but god is dead. No center.

Zuffa ? I'm just quoting Sandro himself. And I agree with you, Omigawa can beat him (and I think the decision was fair last time Twisted Evil ).

oh stfu with your "zuffa bias" shit, Aldo is the best in the world by far. other than that, how would his opinion of Sandro's position vs Warren, Fernandes, Soto, Hioki etc. have anything to do with zuffa? You should have thought your statement through instead of being blindly elitist and accusing people of WEC/UFC nuthuggery.

Apparently they're both following that rule.

When did Dudu get "robbed"? Against Ueda lol? Close fight, but far from a robbery. If anything Dantas is the one who should get DQ'd with all of his anoying grabbing of the ropes.

And although It's fair to say that Sandro should have won against Omigawa, It was still close. Sengoku have made worse decisions than that.

Still, if they're able to finish fights instead of going to decisions, all the power to them. Sandro's KO power is scary, that for sure.
